• Quinoa is a traditional Andean crop and cultivated mainly in Peru. Quinoa means "mother grain" in the Inca language. This ancient seed is a versatile, complete protein whole grain.
• Grown in the mountains of Andes (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and Chile), it is an important grain for the Andean people, it has now become the wonder grain, consumed across the world, for the valuable mineral and vitamin content, more than any comparable grain.
• Sol White quinoa is delicious and healthy, high in protein, dietary fibre, great source of amino acids, and with mildly earthy flavour than rice.
• Gluten free, cholesterol free, free of any chemicals or preservatives
• We recommend quinoa to use in cold salads and it holds its shape better than cooking. Can be used as substitute to rice or couscous in meals. It has mild nutty flavour
• Preparation - Rinse the quinoa well to remove saponin coating which makes it taste bitter or soapy. Drain excess water and transfer to cooking pot. Add double quantity of water with pinch of salt in it. Bring it to boil, cover the pan and then simmer it for 15mins on medium low flame. When water is absorbed, and grain is fluffy
